Immerse Yourself in Scotland's Enchanting Beauty: A Journey for the Soul, Crafted Just for You

Example Itinenary

Day One:

At 0830 your private guide will collect you from your accommodation in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Get ready for an awe-inspiring drive through the stunning Scottish Highlands, where every bend in the road reveals a breathtaking vista.

Start off your day by visiting Luss, which is a small village situated on the edge of Loch Lomond. Here you can explore the village and walk down to the shores of the loch. Loch Lomond and the surrounding landscape is designated as a National Scenic Area in Scotland due to its exceptional beauty.

From there make your way through the magnificent scenery of Glencoe. Glencoe is known for its dramatic mountains, rare beauty, and haunting history such as the Glencoe Massacre in 1692. The mountains were formed from violent volcanic eruptions and then carved by massive glaciers.

Our day's journey will conclude in Fort William, often referred to as the "Outdoor Capital of the UK." It's here that you'll spend your first night on this incredible tour. This picturesque town is nestled at the base of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles.

Day Two:

Your adventure continues as we bid farewell to Fort William and set our course for the mystical Isle of Skye.

For a truly magical experience, you can opt to board the legendary Jacobite Steam Train in Fort William. This iconic journey will take you across the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, a location immortalized in the Harry Potter movies. Your destination is Mallaig, where a scenic ferry ride will carry you to the enchanting Isle of Skye.

If you choose not to take the steam train, rest assured, as our journey continues by road, offering the opportunity to stop at the Glenfinnan viaduct to witness its breathtaking beauty.

Once you arrive in Mallaig, you'll board a ferry bound for Armadale Skye. This voyage is renowned for its stunning vistas of the Scottish Highlands. As you cross the Sound of Sleat, you'll be treated to panoramic views of rugged mountains, tranquil lochs, and picturesque coastal cliffs.

Upon reaching Skye, you'll discover an island steeped in history, with tales of dinosaur fossils, clan warfare, the Highland Clearances, and the Jacobite Rebellion.

In the afternoon, you can choose to visit Dunvegan Castle, Scotland's oldest continuously inhabited castle. Explore its beautiful gardens, embark on a castle tour, and immerse yourself in its rich history.

Alternatively, venture to the Fairy Pools, a series of natural pools and waterfalls nestled in Glen Brittle. Take a scenic hike through this picturesque glen and relish the crystal-clear waters of the pools.

Your day ends in Portree, the largest town on the Isle of Skye, nestled in a captivating harbour. With its colourful buildings, stunning coastal scenery, and easy access to the island's natural wonders, it's a remarkable destination that perfectly complements your unforgettable tour with us.

Day Three:

Prepare to be captivated by Skye's natural wonders as we embark on a day of exploration around the Trotternish Peninsula. Known for its dramatic landscapes and breathtaking natural beauty, the peninsula offers a variety of attractions and landmarks that make it a must-visit destination for travellers.

You can visit sights such as the iconic Old Man of Storr, a towering rock formation that will leave you in awe. You have the option here to take a leisurely hike to witness the breathtaking panoramic views of the island's rugged landscape.

Continuing our adventure, we'll venture to the Trotternish Peninsula, where mythical landscapes await. Be mesmerized by the Quiraing, a majestic landslip that offers otherworldly vistas at every turn.  You can also marvel at the towering Kilt Rock, where majestic cliffs plunge dramatically into the sea, and listen as the wind plays the ancient tunes of Scottish legends.

Stop off at An Corran beach in Staffin to view the famous dinosaur footprints! Visit the Fairy Glen, a magical landscape with cone-shaped hills and mystical rock formations. Take a stroll through the miniature hills and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

For whisky enthusiasts, we can arrange a stop at one of the island's distilleries along the way, such as Talisker Distillery or Torabhaig Distillery. You can savour the flavours of Scotland's famous amber nectar.

Spend a second night in Portree.

Day Four:

Today you will say goodbye to the Isle of Skye and embark on the return journey to Edinburgh/Glasgow.

Along the way, we offer the option to stop at the majestic Eilean Donan Castle, a picture-perfect fortress set against a backdrop of shimmering lochs and misty mountains. Step into the castle's storied past and marvel at its architectural beauty.

In the afternoon, you will reach Pitlochry, a charming town located in central Scotland, known for its scenic beauty and outdoor activities. Take a leisurely walk to the dam, where you can sometimes watch salmon leap upstream using the fish ladder, which is an impressive sight.

After a wonderful few days, we will drop you at the door of your accommodation in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Absolutely MAGIC!!!

Steven and his Dad, George, were very friendly and accommodating. George was very knowledgeable as was Steven. I would highly recommend Lindsays Highland tours to anyone who wants to leave the driving to someone else and enjoy the beauty of the Highlands.
